The word “disciple” gets used a lot in a church community. So much so that its meaning can become obscure. As a result I have people who ask me what it “really” means to be a disciple.
The simple definition of disciple is: follower, apprentice, and student.
In the context of Christianity it is a commitment to actively seek to become more like Jesus.
Alan Hirsch says “One of the best ways of thinking about discipleship is that it means to seek to do the same things that Jesus did for the same reasons that he did them.
May we walk the path of life doing what Jesus did for the reasons he did it.
